Uthay Soundararajan

I am Uthayakumar Soundararajan, a UK-based entrepreneur operating across retail and technology sectors, with ownership of three retail stores and one IT business. My approach to business has always been built around trust, consistency, and building long-term customer relationships. My journey started in independent retail, where I developed a strong understanding of customer needs, supplier partnerships, and day-to-day business operations. Over the years, I have built and supported multiple retail businesses, focusing on creating reliable neighbourhood shopping experiences while maintaining strong relationships with suppliers, partners, and local communities. Alongside my retail operations, I am also involved in the technology space, supporting business systems and digital solutions that help modernise operations, improve efficiency, and help businesses adapt to changing customer expectations. I currently serve as Vice President of the Federation of Independent Retailers (FED), where I work closely with independent store owners, contribute to industry discussions, and support the growth and sustainability of local retail businesses across the UK. My work combines hands-on business leadership with industry-level representation, helping bridge traditional retail values with modern business strategy and future-focused operations.
